Photography has the ability to capture and share our culture. French photographer, Henri Cartier-Bresson (1908-2004), a pioneer of candid and street photography, viewed this art form as “capturing the decisive moment.” American photographer and innovator, Imogen Cunningham (1883-1976) called them “stolen pictures”—taken when her subjects didn’t notice. Every picture tells a story, and every story is captured and stolen for eternity. Art with the power to move us, and perhaps change us, if we let it.
