Photographer Michael Hausman’s goal is to share his artistic eye—to let viewers see and feel the splendor in the simple, the awe in the seemingly ordinary. His current show, “Floral 555” was a multi-year project to create large format images of live flowers—images so large that their beauty engulfs the viewer.

To his credit, Michael has attended The San Francisco Art Institute, The California College of Arts and Crafts, and The University of Washington School of Communication and Film. He has been influenced by Henri Cartier-Bresson, Imogene Cunningham, Ralph Gibson, Edward Weston, Minor White, Ansel Adams, Georgia O’Keefe, and Vincent Van Gogh, among others. His previous show, a fundraiser for The Michael J. Fox Foundation, included “Cultural”—a collection of street images, “Florals”—beautiful blossoms, and “Tidal”—a collection of photos taken from a twelve-year study of Mitchellville Beach in Hilton Head, South Carolina.

Michael now lives with his amazing life partner Annette, and their sweet pup Sophie, in Begur, Spain.
